We flew to Zimbabwe on the top of the range Air Zimbabwe plane....it was old, small, had propellers and smelled, it cost me $70 to enter, what a rip off! The area was very hot...33c at 7 in the morning....phew! we stayed in a small backpakers which was ok but i was kept awake by people shagging in the swimming pool outside our room....needless to say we didnt have a swim the next day! The town of vic falls is obviously very poor with nothing in the shops and no petrol.people kept hassling us,trying to sell us stuff or swap clothes,it got quite annoying but who can blame them. Victoria falls was in in the dry season so although it was very pretty it was not spectacular as only half of the river was flowing. Layne shat himself when he saw a tiny snake. We crosed into Zambia which was still quite an expensive country for foreigners. We did a booze cruise on the Zambizi and saw crocs, hippos and ellies and a fab sunset. Next day we did a days white water rafting which was great fun as the rapids were MASSIVE but we were all a bit dissapointed because we didnt get flipped out! I would go back again to see the falls in the wet season....but i'd have to save up as the trip was very expensive even though we did it at cheaply as possible!
