Day 6 - Maui Hawaii
Another lovely day here in Maui. Had an alfresco breakfast on the balcony. We had bought some cereals, fruit, milk and orange juice from the local supermarket so we have been having that for a few days. The exact same thing would have cost around $19 each in the hotel, such a rip off and especially as we are only on day 6 with 85 to go!Decided that we would make use of the car we had hired today to see a bit more of the island plus use up some of the $87 worth of fuel we have had to pay for so we set off early (ish) for Hana which the guide books list as one of the great drives of the world; it's certainly one of the slowest with hairpin bends virtually all the way for around 40 miles. It took us nearly 4 hrs to get to the visitor centre at the national park and then around an hour to walk the 2 mile trail to the Waimoku falls which is 400ft high. The trail windes through a forest of non native plants such as a 40ft high bamboo forest which was very dark with mango and guava groves; we also came across an enormous banyan tree. The falls certainly were very impressive. Then came the long trek down again though and a repeat of the 40miles of hairpins. Poor Bill has never had to concentrate so hard on driving for so long before; just as well the car's an automatic. Off tomorrow evening for Kauai; may have to wait a few days for the next update depending on internet connections. Aloha…..

Paul T Tried catching up with your trip between shows. Sounds as if all is going to plan. What? No earthquakes yet? How disappointing! Show going well but realising at 60 it's the kids who should be moving the set around!! Love to both, P xx
