Day 9 - Kauai, Hawaii

Well the first cloudy day since we have left the UK. I know we shouldn't complain as the islands have had massive storms with rain, thunder and lightning but because of our island hopping we so far have missed them all, however a bit disappointing though after yesterday. As we have no car here we had intended to stay round the pool and beach today and just swim and sunbathe but instead took ourselves off for a walk after breakfast across the golf course. It's currently being re vamped and looks as though it will be really challenging once it's finished. We must have walked about 6 miles in total as we were completely shattered when we got back to the hotel. The temperature is in the mid 70's even without the sun and its quite humid. I have now retreated back on the terrace/balcony/lounge area of the hotel where it is completely open and looks over the pool but you can sit on big loungers and just look out over the water. Might go for a swim in a minute, the water's really warm but without the sun it's not quite so inviting. Bill's gone off to the shop in search of a book and I'm obviously catching up on the travel blog. It takes ages to load the photos so apologies if there are not always many to accompany the diary. Those of you on facebook can see more as for some reason it's much quicker to upload them to there! We've also taken loads of videos but they may have to wait until we get somewhere that really does have a fast connection! Planning to eat at Duke's tonight; it is one of the onsite restaurants here and is supposedly well known all over Hawaii - that is if you believe the write ups - we'll let you know…….
