Day 28
Sunday 29 Aug
1600(30 Aug)
I woke up early yesterday morning after only about 5 hours sleep and suddenly remembered that I didn't know where I was staying when I got to graz. Unable to get back to sleep I grabbed katies laptop from beside the bed and logged onto couch surfing.org. There were pleanty of people, mainly students offering up couches In graz and I sent out last minute requests to about 10 or 15 of them. By mid afternoon 5 people had answered my call and I was able to pick where I wanted to stay.
I started writing my diary not long after and then realised how tired I was and closed my eyes and fell asleep instantly.
I woke a couple hours later and katie went and grabbed some food for breakfast. We hit the road soon after and headed down to the m25 and around to Windsor castle. It took us ages to find a park but eventually we got one. The only problem was there was a merc that had parked right over and it made the space incredibly small. I jumped in the drivers seat and backed it in, I had less then 20cm clearance on the passenger side and less on the drivers. The plan was to climb out the window and then open the door enough to get my hand in a close it.
We first went and sat in a cafe and I bought 2 lattes. It wasn't until I was halfway through the coffee that i'd realised that the 2 drinks had cost me 12 Aussie dollars.
We walked upto Windsor castle, the weekend residence of the queen. To get in was 16 quid so we just decided to walk around the perimeter. This was however to no avail as it wasn't really just a wall to walk around, buildings were attached to it and there was big fences coming off it. We ended up just turning around and heading back. The castle was similar to the Egyption exhibition. It felt like it had been built yesterday and that the walls were pressure washed every morning and the whole area was way too touristy for it to seem real.
We then headed back home for a quick gonk before the nights activities. The plan for the night was to head into the city and join an organised pub crawl. It's run by the same company that does the free tours and takes you to 5 different pubs and bars and gives you a heap of free drinks, its a really cost effective way to go out.
