Hey, sorry we haven't written for a while we've been learning to scuba dive!! We're currently on Koh Lanta which is about two hours south of Phi Phi and i have to say this is probably the nicest of all the islands. The people are so friendly and it is so cheap!! We've been here for five days the last four have been doing a diving course. We took the PADI open water course which means we can dive anywhere in the world without an instructor, we paid lots of money and spent lots of beach time studying!! Dave took to it like a fish to water - i was unsurprisingly RUBBISH!! (although passed the theory with flying colours!!). We spent two days doing confined dives in a swimming pool - you have to do various skills underwater such as removing your mask and regulater (breathing aparatus), then the last two days out at sea in Ko Ha diving down to 22 metres ........ all this stuff is actually what Dave did because i couldn't get down deeper than 5 metres!! When your down there though its amazing what you see there are literally hundreds of fish and masses of coral. We even found NEMO!! Its such a fantastic experience............................ shame i didn't pass!! Dave has got his open water certificate, I have referal form!! Even after spending the past two days one on one with a dive instructor. Its honestly harder than it looks!! However, we def recommend diving to anyone and even though i didn't pass the course it was a wicked experience!!
The resort we're staying on here is family run and really nice, the funniest thing is its crawling with ladyboys!! Dave didn't believe me for ages that the 'women' serving our breakfast was really a guy!! Only once he'd seen his ........................... adams apple!! We're right on the beach with a nice bar out the front, with fireshows every night, and they play volley ball during the day on the beach (i watch, don't play!)
So tomorrow we're off to Hat Yai (where there were 4 bombs last month, so wish us luck!!) where we'll pick up the train to Kuala Lumpa in Maylasia. We need to be in Singapore by Saturday so we've got LOADS of travelling in the next few days!! Then we're off 'Down Under' for a month, lets hope it doesn't go as quick as this month has!!
We'll write from Oz - hope your all well.
Loadsa love Lou & Dave xxx
