Barcelona second time around was even better than the first time. This time we went to Montjuic Castle - a military base which was actually still in use as a prison up until about 1981. It was mostly occupied by political prisoners but is now a tourist attraction. Fabulous views from the top - especially from the Watch Tower.
As well as Montjuic we visited some more Gaudi sites, including a house in the Passage de Gracia ( Barcelona's Collins Street). The house was purchased by a family early in the 20th century and has been restored.
We also visited the Palau de Musica (Gaudi wasn't the architect, but it is certainly reminiscent of his style). Beautiful interior as well - and acoustically brilliant as we found when we attended a concert there on our last night in Barcelona.
We were sad to say goodbye to Barcelona, but I'm sure we'll return one day.
