Got into Sydney early morning. Went to the hotel(which was right in the middle of Sydney and my room was on the 68th floor!) and spent the day walking around downtown Sydney. Study Australia then took us to Drling Harbour where we got to eat at one of their local restaurants that is well-known. I had fish, but alot of poeple ate kangaroo. It was way to rare for me to handle though! The next day we got up and our tour guide took us for a walking tour around Sydney and pointed out all the sights. We went to the botanical gardens where the cockatoos will just land on your arms and then walked down by Sydney Harbour where we got some great pictures of the Sydney Opera House. After walking past the Opera House we got on a bus and went to a local animal reserve where we got to hold koalas and stand next to and pet kangaroos. I got some great pictures there too! That night we again went down to Darling Harbour where we watched an awesom street performer juggle ten things while balanced on a 10 foot high basketball hoop pole(and one of the things was on fire!) The next morning we had to get up extremely early to take a bus out to the Blue Mountains where we went abseiling. It was a little tricky at first but I eventually caught on and it was amazing! We first had to practice on this little ten foot high rock, then we got to go down the side of a cliff, which was about 50 ft! Abseiling down wasn't bad since I was harnessed in, it was the climbing back up the ladder to the top when I wasn't harnessed in that was scary! Then we got to go down an even bigger cliff that was about 150 ft down; some people even went head first! Once we got back from the Mountains we had to hurriedly get ready to go to Darling Harbour because we were taking a fancy dinner cruise on the Sydney Harbour area past the Opera House. We got on the boat and it was awesome! The boat was used by ESPN when the Olympic Games had been held there in 2000 and the pope had used it to ride around the harbour too! On the boat the food was pretty good and the views of the city were amazing especially during and after the sun went down. The next day we took a bus to Bondi Beach. It was huge and there was tons of people there! The water was beautiful! That night was the Sydney Festival, so the whole city was full of people and there were entertainers on every street corner. It was so cool; I saw aboriginal dancers, the biggest dance floor in the world and this group that used explosions and fire on pipes to make music. It was such a neat experience. The next day we got up and took one last walk around the Sydney area before we left for the airport!
