Had a bit of a sleep in today, toast and cereal for breakfast and then we headed into Fortitude Valley. Smiles drove us in and around Fortitude Valley and over Story Bridge, then she dropped us off and we looked through a few shops on Ann st and Brunswick st. Then walked around for a bit to find a Centrelink, and after a long annoying wait there we headed back down Brunswick st and went into this gothic clothes shop where Darren bought a shirt, and a new and second hand CD shop where we got the Ben Harper and Relentless 7 CD, and got recommended some places to go in the Valley. We went to a place called Ric's Bar and had some bruschetta, risotto balls, and a few beers. Afterwards we checked out China Town for a bit before heading to the station and jumping on a train back to Sandgate. Then we went back in to China Town with Col and Smiles, and tried to go to a restaurant called Thai Wi Rat that they recommended, but it was full so we went to a place down the road instead and had some yummy food. While we were there we were drumming on the table with chopsticks, when a guy on the next table started joining in. We started chatting to those guys - Griffith, Andrew, Katherine, Diana and ? - then they exchanged numbers with Darren and said they'd be out later. Smiles and Col went home after tea, and we headed back to Ric's Bar, and had a few drinks. Then a grunge band of 17year old kids called Dirty Harry played and it was awesome! After a few more beers, we went out the front where some buskers were playing the djembe, and Darren joined in. After that Andrew called and came out and met us, so we hung out with him for a while before heading back to the station at about 1am, to catch the last train back to Sandgate, then went to bed.
