So Spain...funny story they speak Spanish. Funnier story, I don't. It wasn't all that bad though. I had visions of this beautiful romantic Barcelona. What I got was a city of poor street performers and pickpockets. At least that what it was at first. We spent Friday at Los Ramblos which was kinda the main drag, then feed the birds at the harbor. It was 70 degrees all weekend which was lovely. On Saturday we headed more towards the more touristy things. We started at the Sagrada Familia. It this cathedral thats being bulit for like hundreds of years. And not done....we went 90 stories up and looked over the city. It was so incedible up there. Although the paying for it did nothing to improve my view of the Catholic Church. Shouldn't the entrance to house of worship be free? We saw the Gaudi house as well. Cool stuff. That night we did the Magic Fountain. Its this huge fountain with colored lights and water shows and there is classical music and opera for each 15 minute show. Its the most amazing thing in Barcelona. Plus, there was the Waltz of the Flowers which made me wanna dance through the streets. The next day, we did the Picasso Museum. All of his main works are held at the Met and other places so it was mainly sketchings and things. It was the one the 3 free days a year which was kinda while we went. We spent most of Sunday after that just wandering, enjoying a street fair and the sun. Honestly, after last weekend I wasn't about the drinking although I did try my first tequilla sunrise. When in Spain, drink tequilla right. My mother is crazy because she always said those were her favorite but you feel your throat melting from it. other than that, I went back to the hostel and read a lot. Three books in 4 days to be exact. Looking back on it...me gusta Barcelona!
