HELLO HELLO

Its been a little while since I updated you all with pics and news, sorry for the delay! Not only have I been busy but have had some internet issues too.Hope everyone is well and surviving all the crazy weather- hope no one's been washed away in these crazy floods, and of course celebrating the Spice Girls Reunion! Woohooooo

So now for a little update: its been a pretty hectic few weeks actually here in little Darwin. As for the weather its cooled, it went to 12 degrees last night which was certainly the coolest I've experienced in Darwin and 22 degrees in the day brrrr. Well it is Ozzie winter.

Ben (my boyfriend) had a ball at the airforce base the other weekend, and it was fantastic. Apart from the gorgeous food- seriously top class and at least four different chocolate deserts to choose from (obviously had to sample them all) and as much alcohol as you can drink included in the ticket, who would nt have fun! My flatmate Julie came down with me and was a "blind date" for one of Ben's friends. So it was all fun. The band was fronted by Darwins Biggest Looser star, who was excellent.Have uploaded a few pics. The dress code was 'black and white' so one of the lads wore a wedding dress! Mother of all hangova's the next day but so much fun and recuperated in Katherine hot springs the next day. Ben was also in a motocross competition on the Sunday and came first which was exciting. Unfortunately one young guy came off his bike and is in a coma, which is so sad. So he was flown from Katherine to Darwin intensive care.

Ben took some time off work and came to stay in Darwin with me for 5 days which was lovely did some touristy things and explored some of the nature reserves.It was also the V8 supercar races weekend and as much as I thought this wud be a boys weekend it was fun. Was unfortunately working and on call that weekend but had Saturday afternoon off so went to the races. Was great fun watching the collisions and just the smell of burning rubber and the noise was pretty immense! Then of course the scantily clad promo girls! What a site. So in typical Darwin style, everyone's there with their beers and chairs enjoying the racing cars and there's even an excellent band playing music in the background!

My nurse Becky from Clarence Town is coming to visit next weekend for a week which is exciting! So we'll be doing crazy sightseeing. Cant wait.

On the work front have had some pretty full on days and been totally knackered! Had a case of myasthenia gravis which is pretty unique and quite a few dog fight wounds.Had to put a possum to sleep due to a car accident.Long busy days!

Hoping for a more chilled weekend, its cracker (fireworks night) on Sunday which should be fun. Its actually illegal to let of fireworks in some states and in Darwin its only legal once a year so you can imagine everyone goes a little crazy!
