WEST COAST USA Part 2.....
Viva Las Vegas!!!!!!
After a 14hr bus journey from San Fran we arrived in Las Vegas! The bright lights and craziness did not dissappoint and we were pretty happy when we checked into our 2 queen bed hotel room in the Statosphere! A much needed luxury at a travellers price...perfect!!!
The first day in Vegas and it was time to explore. Our hotel was located at the end of the strip so we made the very long walk all along it, and when we say long we mean like it took the whole day! So many wicked things to see along the way, all the huge fancy hotels and casinos that you see in the movies like Caesars Palace where we stopped for a quick iced lemonade to refresh ourselves! If we thought the fountain at The Grove in LA was impressive then the one at Bellagio was out of this world! Played to the song "All That Jazz" from the chicago soundtrack the fountains really were unbeleivable and so perfectly timed was really brilliant to watch!
We stopped for various photo oppurtunities along the way we particularly enjoyed the one with the ginat M & M outside the M & M shop! hehe.
So it was time to hit the town vegas style....we sipped vodka in our hotel room whilst getting glammed up and then made our way along the strip. We didnt manage to get very far before some guys from a tattoo shop hauled us in to look at their artwork. Not even vaguely tempted to actually get a tattoo we did have a funny time chatting to them trying to learn american slang and them laughing at our Brit accent! (We love being English here they really do go wild for the accent!haha) Ok so we finally managed to get away from the tatoo shop and headed to a bar with a live band, after a little boogy we were off to the next bar when we got given free credit for a slot machine outside a casino. We played happily on this for a while and won ourselves a few 2 for 1 drinks vouchers and some credit for one of the slot machines inside. With our 2 for 1 $1 dollar margaritas in our hands we tried our luck using our free credit on the machines.....we were rubbish! In fact there was no way the machine was ever going to let us win but nevertheless we had a giggle!! A few more crazy bars later a good night had been had by us both and we were more than ready for our Queen beds when our heads hit the pillow!
After living life in the fast lane in Vegas it was sadly time to move on again this time back to LA. Very pleased at the prospect of our last greyhound Bus (cheap public bus that all the american scum bags take!) it did not go without a hitch! First we were delayed leaving as some pikey would not admit that she hadnt actually bought a ticket after sitting there for half an hour slagging off everyone and moaning that the bus wouldnt leave! Katie had the joy of sitting next to a man who could not control his bows or the coughing up of flem! nice! Whilst Jem had the luxury of half a seat with the fat sweaty american next to her taking up his own plus her other half! Livid! With a 2 hour wait for our transfer bus we sat through gritted teeth at the roguey station quietly reading our books. Little did we know that no b***** would announce when our next bus was leaving so we ended up missing it by a matter of minutes!! The rude incapable staff were less than helpful so we had to make our way outside where it was now dark to try and make our own way on a public bus! As we went to cross the road and a man in his convertable shouted to us to not walk any further than the lights as it wasnt safe we began to wish that we could click our fingers and be in our warm beds at home in England!! A few more weirdos later and finally we were on route and soon back at the hostel with a cup of tea which felt believe it or not like heaven!
Back in LA we were now in a dorm with 4 English lads, the banter was soon going strong and the drinking games not far off. We all made our way to the sister hostel of ours on Hollywood Boulevard where there were live bands palying and the Ring of Fire was soon in full flow. Back to the party room at the basement of our hostel and once again the night ran away with us. Another 4am bedtime but another great night out with some very funny stories!
As you have probably already guessed we all spent the following day feeling very sorry for ourselves and having a very lazy day with no one surfacing until 1pm! We did manage to show two of the lads the wonder that was The Grove and the wonderful water fountain to music which being two 19 year old boys from Hackney were of course very impressed by! hehe.
So now we are here and having spent our last day with the boys trying to check out the talent at Muscle Beach (which was extremely dissappointing!!!!!) we eagerly await the FINAL yes we said FINAL chapter of our trip.......NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEK!!! We are so very very excited and cannot wait to get there and see Rossy and the boys!!!!!!
Our last ever blog will be with you very very soon! :-(
