Time travelled to South America, arrived in Santiago. Saw the sites - museums, parks and amazing architecture, as well as the local police station after local bum stole camera - not amused though only injury was bruised finger nail so all is fine. Still beautiful city and would recommend to anyone.

Headed south to Pucon, after locating hostel actually open in winter saw the lake and town with HUGE casino! went in search of waterfall - could hear it just couldn´t see it though view of city and lake were worth the trek. Decided was a good idea to go white water rafting in the snow...was fun but absolutely freezing!!

continued journey south to Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas...not the pretty villages we were expecting - no German cheesecake either!! don´t think will be a return trip but hostel was nice!

crossed the border to Argentina - biggest no man´s land ever! Spent week in Bariloche - cycled the National Park and walked by the lake before deciding there was enough snow to go into the mountains. After an impressive start at snowboarding H turned to skiing to see more of the view of the Andes than just the one mountain!

Headed to the coast with Laura our new new zealand friend to see lots of whales in Puerto Madryn. more cycling though the dusty gravel roads were not kind on the bum! beach walking to find flock of flamingoes! as we were missing Wales we spent several hours in nearby Gaimon - linked with somewhere in Wales though not many actual welsh! though there were many Casa de Te for lots of cakes and endless pot of tea - awesome!!

hideous 24hour journey on several buses to get to El Calafate. Walking lakeside accompanied by local dogs. Trip to National Park through snow and cloud to see the glaciers, boat trip to get even closer, amazing! return to the hostel for all you can eat bbq...love it!

Off to the end of the world tomorrow.
