Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Wintery greetings from Salt Lake City. I'm currently enjoying our suite at the Residence Inn where my new roomie Tiffani and I have more than enough space to spread out. Time on tour so far truly has flown by. I was sorry to leave Thousand Oaks, especially since the weather was wonderful, the theatre was great, and I had amazing help from the local dresser Kim and wig guy Ali. On the other hand, I was excited to get on the road and see Las Vegas for the first time.
We rolled onto the strip right around noon, and checked into our appropriately tacky casino hotel, Hooters. After I spent some time at the gym, I headed out to see the sights. I visited the Luxor, Excaliber, the MGM Grand, New York, New York and Paris before I got completely water-logged, (of course we ended up in Vegas the first time it had rained in like 4 months) and headed back to Hooters to change for the evenings activities. My friend Christina and I met up with her friend Mike and had dinner at the Whin buffet, which was incredible. After dinner we checked Mike into his room at the Hard Rock, hung out for a bit and then headed out to Prive, a club in Planet Hollywood I believe. Mike knows some people, so we had the table service hookup and danced the night away. After deciding that I had had a little too much fun, I headed home and promptly put myself to bed.
We loaded onto the bus at 6:45 Tuesday morning headed to Salt Lake City. We avoided a winter storm by a few hours, but the going was still slow. I didn't mind the travel time, especially after lunch when I was ready to climb out of my nest on the floor between the seats and take in the sights. There are few places that I've seen in the world that are more beautiful in the snow than Utah. We finally arrived at the Residence Inn, Salt Lake City around 3:00 PM Mountain time and settled into our lovely suites. We had a show last night at Kingsbury Hall, a beautiful collegiate theatre and once again I was reminded how lucky I am to have joined such an awesome tour. We have performances in the evening for the rest of the week and then doubles Saturday and Sunday. Monday I head out to see Sean in New Zealand. I can't wait!
