After a 7-hour train ride from Budapest to Zagreb, Croatia, followed by a 9-hour overnight (and extremely uncomfortable) trainride, Steph and I arrived in Split, Croatia feeling jetlagged even though we did not cross into another time zone. Without a map and too early to find an open store to purchase one, we wandered around Split trying to find our hostel and finally bumped into Jason, an Aussie with a backpack and a map who led us to our destination, Split Hostel. After dropping off our bags we took a walk along the scenic coast and later laid on the beach. In the evening we hung out with a few Aussies and "Medium Andy." Yes, we met another Andy from England who was neither tall nor short, so of course we appropriately nicknamed him.
On Saturday we decided to go to the laundrymat to give our clothes a good washing (hand washing in the sink just doesn't always cut it). While there, in walked two American girls that we met in Salzburg, Austria! Unreal. We couldn't have planned that if we tried. In the evening Steph and I walked along a coastal trail to watch the sunset, which was absolutely gorgeous. It got chilly so we sat at a cafe and ordered a cup of hot chocolate which was hands down the best hot chocolate I ever had. It was so thick I had to use a spoon to drink it! Amazing. SwissMiss just won't cut it when I get home...
