We,re in Greymouth today which, despite it,s name is a lovely little town. Today we have been up to a place called Shantytown which is a recreation of a gold mining town from the 1860s. They have built mines , shops , barbers, a fire station a jail, a schoool etc etc and the place is very impressive. They also have a steam train which takes you up on a short ride through the bush which was great for the kids. I think Poppy and Noah will be experts on mining by the time they get home but I have promised them we will do something different tomorrow.
When w e were in Hong Kong the Chinese people were always taking pictures of Noah as it is good luck for them to see or touch a blond haired boy. As you can imagine this took a bit of getting used to but we were ok with it when we left. We had forgotten about that until yesterday when we met a group a tourists from Taiwan and the y all wanted to take Noah's photo at the Pancake rocks. But Noah being the shy boy he is would not look at the camera. Imagine his and our shock when we walked around a corner to find the whole group ready with their cameras and taking photos. I know how the Royal family feel now with all those Paparazzi.
