Well well people, im 1 week into my gap year and having a wonderful time, im uploading some pics on myspace (www.myspace.com/kiz_me_k8) its taking forever, internet connection is pretty damn slow but im not complaining! Ghana is just an amazing country, its hot and sunny, the people are amazing and its just beautiful here. I arrived on sunday, was travelling for 12 hours and finally got here and got picked up by Koku and went for a drink at this bar/chicken joint! was so suprised it felt just like south london, all young people around, girls wearing really stylish clothes, guys with done up cars with license plates like 'MR PAIN!' haha got to my new home, so pleasently suprised it wasnt a shack! it had walls and a roof...even a dvd player and tv- amazing, but no running water! its so weird here EVERYONE has mobile phones - even kids and all the guys use the internet to talk to their western internet girlfriends, everyone has cd players, dvds all the mod cons but no running water anywhere!! actaully the highlight of my day was turning on a tap in a toilet for the first time in a week!! im gettin by pretty well though, ive got my hair done in braids so your not actually aloud to wash it for 2 months -so im down with that! haha i can;t believe how ive got used to everything so fast, i now know i can have a shower using only like a pan filled with water and still feel clean! everyone reading this back home is probaly like ...your so gros kate...yes people i know but im gettin the full african experience and im loving it. its been kinda weird though not seeing ANY white people...i saw about 7 today, its become like a counting game now. im known by the locals as either whitey, sister or Obruini (twi for white person) followed by shouts of welcome to Ghana, its really
