Hello, eh.
My few days in Ohio were just what I needed. I was staying with a friend on his farm, so thankfully, I was limited in what I could do. The first day, I got up at 5.30am to get a lift into the nearest town, Delaware. Since I was there so early, I headed to MacDonalds and had a coffee and used the free wi-fi. Once the day reached a more sociable hour, I went off and explored the quaint, quiet town. I also went to the public library to read a bit about the civil war as I had seen and heard a lot about it over the previous few days. Luke and his family then took me out for some fantastic Mexican, made by a Thai chap... Go figure!
The next day was pure relaxation. It was heaven! I vaccumed, groomed the dog and read my (huge!) book in the sun overlooking fields of corn and beans. We then went to an arcade style place, where I got beaten in every game we played. It was then on to a friends place, where I was taught how to play Beer Pong. I'm really not very good! It is brilliant though and I had a blast!
After Ohio, I headed to Niagara Falls. Unfortunately, I ended up staying on the US side of the falls, which is a very depressed, run-down town. The main attraction after the falls seemed to be the copious amount of Indian restaurants. I met up with a girl from the hostel, Emma, and we ventured over to the Canadian side for a better view of the falls. Turns out the Canadian side is loads of fun and we ended up going back for dinner. To be honest, the Canadian border control guy was pretty hot too!
You don't need a lot of time at Niagara Falls, so the next day I took off to Toronto.
I have been really excited about exploring Canada and so far have not been disappointed. I have been up the top of the CN Tower, which gives the most amazing views of Toronto and have checked out the Dinosaurs and Terracotta Warriors at the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum). I am now going to visit Kensington Market and then maybe St Lawrence Market.
Tomorrow, I catch a bus to Vancouver. Yep, that's right! A 3 day bus ride... Fun! Will keep you posted.
