Rach's World Adventures!
Off to airport shortly so just a quick summary of my favourite times and last days in Germany...
- Quiz night at the Irish pup - the night when Sabine, Pia and I decided to go to quiz night. Helped along by a couple (give or take 5 or so) gin and tonics we clearly had fantastic general knowledge. We may have come 16th (eg last) but I think we did a great job considering the other teams were on average double our age...
- The same night when we (actually Sabine and Pia who then persuaded me forcefully to join them) decided to do kareoke. The great song 'Aint no mountain high' was our choice... unfortunately the version that they played was completely different than we knew. So after standing there looking pretty stupid we decided to sing our version anyway... Lets just say that I was very suprised when people cheered at the end (clearly we weren't the only ones having a few drinks...).
- Going to the zoo with Pia - I think I will definately have a baby elephant, a cheetah and a giraffe when I have my own home...
- The day when Sabine and I rode our bikes to Bonn. The 30k ride made much longer by us taking a little path that went from normal road to sand and then to jungle... We finally found the road again and our clothes and bikes were nicely decorated with leaves and sticky plants... attractive!
- Visiting the beer gardens, learning from my great tour guides when or when not to pay for the toilets...
- German food. From quark to worst of all kinds, super good brown bread rolls to Sabine's german home cooking.
- Horse riding in the woods with Sabine wiith our trusty steeds Max and Celine. Getting told 'Its impossle to get lost' and managing to prove them wrong...
- Skiing yesterday in an indoor slope. So much fun! As you can imagine my 'pizza' style skiing impressed the hot snow boarders as they did fancy jumps etc. As did my nice bail when my legs crossed over and I face planted in the snow... but I DID manage to go on one of those round seat like ski life things that as I child I always fell off and got skiied over! Quite an achievement.
- The best part of the skiing day could possibly be going sliding down the hill on a taboggan type thing, giggling like 5 year olds - was awesome!
A HUGE thankyou to Sabine for being such a fantasic host!!! xxxxx
