I got up late and went out for coffee. Was able to talk to Hugh and Peter for a long time which was lovely. Dina sounds in good form and Hugh is heading back to Oamaru tomorrow. Went back to hotel to tidy up. Then jean and I went out for breakfast. A really lovely morning sitting on the street of trees. I will take a photo tomorrow. Nothing much to report today lying in our hotel on R and R. Washing is done and strung up all over. The hotel had a policy of laundry in before 10:00am and returned 5:30 the next day. I guess you have to stay three nights to get really clean. The Cathedral Santa Maria of Burgos has to be one of the most beautiful buildings around. You are led over an ancient bridge and as you enter the portale the full view of the cathedral reveals itself. Well one side anyway. ...

Day 15. Wednesday 9th. May 22km 345 up 290 down. Mild 17. 6. Easy days walk today steep sections were very short. Woke early to a cornet call at 6:00. Day 13. Monday 7th May. Azofra to Granon Albergue Ave de Posa 10E brkfst 3E 22 km. 380 up 200 down. 23 high. 10 low. Very hot walking 3-4:00 We left the albergue at 7:30 after a hard boiled egg.
