Walked back through Spencer forest to Waimaire beach. 7km and seem to be consistently walking at 4.9kph. Will take a day off and do a long walk on Sunday or Monday. Feel really good about my pack wondering if I really need a waterproof jacket.

Marie Different views about that depending who you talk to. I think they are good if you hit cold wet weather. Not much use if warm and raining.
kiwi07 I read some blogs of people walking in May and they said cold and wet so merino cardi and waterproof jacket stay in.
