No worries lils, we didn't get the housekeeping jobs at a motel we applied for. That was a kick in the face. Nice to hear from you chuck, if you're still in spain when i get home I might just pop over and see you.

hav to pay to use net so just go on quickly to check emails! Of course i havent forgotten you both, stop stirring Drew! also like to get out of internet cafe quick as poss as the weird indian guy on the counter thinks he has permission to stare at me whilst im online and ask me weird rhetorical questions, then waits for an answer. I just stare blankly and run. So glad you´re having a good time, jobhunting situation is really tough here too. Are there any flyering jobs you can do? They´re fun, im doing that some nights at the moment. have just finished working as an interpretor for a week for a french construction company at a business fair, got that through a hostess agency, for staff for big events etc, if thats any help? the positive is you guys are SO lucky that you dont have to worry about language issues, job interviews in spanish are now how i imagine hell to be like. Oh, and dont joke about maccy Ds, I filled out the form a few weeks ago but they wouldnt hire me coz i dont speak catalan! Rejected by macdonalds..... the shame!
wont bore everyone with more news on here but will send you both an email soon! Love you loads and take care XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

And we haven't forgotten you either - just using your room rather a lot in your absence! Supper party last night 'til late and folk coming for the w/e tonight so zero chance of an early night. Yawn! Keep plugging!

No worries Becky... it's nice to see that at least one friend hasn't forgotten us! KP spoke to the woman at the winery today and she said we're the only people who've applied for the full-time positions so far, so fingers crossed for a good interview and we will hopefully be sorted. There are a couple of pubs looking for staff in town now so we're still handing in CVs in Queenstown to cover ourselves... like I said-fingers crossed!!!! Good to hear from you all lots of love XXXXXXXXX
Becky
oops sent the message twice there as I tried to edit the first one cos i left out the word 'be'! Not to worry! xxx

Keep at it girlies, you'll impress them in the interviews! Really put on those proper English accents so you can novelty employees for them!! If all else fails, go in search of a novelty English pub/restaurant/cafe - you're sure to get jobs there because you'll be authentic Englishwomen. Good luck anyway, I hope you find something soon xxx

Lords of the Rings...enjoy! I remember the Shotover Jet....definitely no curries. Don't worry about finding work, I'm sure something will turn up - at least you'll get the chance to see more of NZ. LYL Mum

Stick with it 'dudettes' (is that the correct term?!) I am sure you will find a place insanitary enough with blind and deaf owners to employ you both! Mum & I have been thinking we might do a gap year when we retire - it can't be that hard - but we are worried all the best places will be populated by people like you. Meanwhile, the Broughton house is still a bit more horizontal than I would wish but we hope to change all that within the month. Laura's voyaging has been curtailed - she had planned to go to Ireland this w/e but there was the small matter of the ferry. They don't start running again from Liverpool until the end of the month! Enjoy the Lord of the Rings tour but I suggest you pass on the curry.............. Jetboat - now I am jealous!
Ever Hopefuls
Hi everyone Georgie here... just to let you know the job progress. We're slowly giving up hope of finding work in Queenstown- it seems even housekeeping jobs are out of our reach! There are just SO many people here looking for work that the competition is too high and we're just not here long enough. However, we've found several good job search sites online and have sent our CVs to places as far as Auckland (which we'd rather not do but if it's all there is we have to go for it). We both have interviews on Monday for a Winery in Bannockburn near Cromwell about 45 mins down the road. It's waitressing and the lady on the phone sounds really nice and they're pretty desperate so fingers crossed, we also have slightly promising signs for bar and waitressing work in Franz Josef a really beautiful area in Milford Sound. Whatever the outcome, at least we have a glimmer of hope which will keep us going to find work eventually. We're trying so hard!!!! On the plus side... with the likelyhood that we'll be moving from Queenstown soon in look of work, we booked our Lord of the Rings tour for tomorrow afternoon- wohooooo! And we intend to do a Shotover Jet ride on Saturday (which is a really powerful jet boat that goes upstream on the richest river in the world... whatever that means!) We must go now as we're continuing our online search for work. Love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It seems like the novelty of posting messages has worn off. Have KP's and G's friends gone under ground, or are you all sunning yourselves in exotic locations for the Spring Vac, well away from PC's and internet cafes? Working for Macd's is not all bad-it's a transferable skill, so at least you could travel round NZ flipping burgers and impregnating your clothes with the smell of chip fat!
Don't let the lack of jobs get you down. If Queenstown has nothing to offer, move on to a city and you'll probably be spoilt for choice.
All well here. It's raining, I'm en route to London to try my luck with M & S, Mum's poaching eggs, Al's first exam is next week and Will is in Weymouth on CCF camp. Ellie continues to bug me for food. LYL Dad XXXX
