Hey everyone. We have been in boston for about 2 days, but we leave tomorrow morning. We are staying at the YMCA because it was the cheapest place we could find, and we are still paying $35 a night each. The room is like a prison cell, the bathrooms are not very nice at all and the whole building is just really unwelcoming. Because it is a centre more than a hostel there isn't a kitchen or communal area. So not that impressed.
But Boston is beautiful. Yesterday we walked from the YMCA to Boston gardens and boston common. Then we walked along the freedom trail which takes you to the best points of interest in boston. We saw the old city hall, the state house and Faneuil Hall which had a really nice shopping centre. We had a pint at the replica cheers bar, and looked in the gift shop. We did some browsing (Jo did some buying). Then we had lunch at wagamamas. We carried on with the freedom trail but then it started to rain, so we found a borders, got a drink from the cafe and read our books until it stopped. We had dinner at the original cheers bar, which was very cool.
Today we got up kind of late. We walked all the way to boston common and then got the subway to JFK/Uni of Massachusettes. We went to the JFK museum which was really good and really reasonably priced. Even the cafe was cheap enough for us. When we left it was already 4pm, so we got the subway back to the common and sat by the lake, in the sun reading our books. We just had a really nice dinner at a grill called Uno.
Our friend adam arrived in New York today and we are joining him tomorrow.
Lots of love to you all xxxxxxxxxx
