gday chaps!! its been a while i know!! hope you're all doing ok and you can all rest in the knowledge that it is hotter in wales than here in oz, we actually had to buy sleeping bags, socks, fleeces and long sleeves tops on our last day in sydney! not what we expected really hahaha. anyways after that we had a really good day cos it finally stopped raining so we wandered around the non touristy places with some people we met and got good ice cream, went up closer to the bridge and opera house and sat and watched the sun set behind the bridge...was so nice cos they had a cool band playing too then it was on the overnight bus to byron bay. i really liked byron, its pretty small but loads of hippies about and nices places to eat/shop. we stayed at this place called the arts factory which was soo good. we only stayed in a dorm room but they had teepees and stuff you could stay in too!! we thought they'd be freezin and crap but we made friends with a guy that works there and he showed us around and we soo wished we stayed in the teepee it had a big stove fire in the middle so was warmer than our room! the saff all live in this converted double decker bus too which is funny. it was a good place to stay and entertained us with their talent contest (we thought everyone was gonna be crap but were all suprisingly talentd!) the people that work there pursuaded us to get up a 5am to go to a lighthouse that is the most easterly point in australia to watch the sunset...which was amazing...and we saw whales too!! after that we went on a day trip to a weird town called nimbin that was full of hippies. just chilled out on the beach mostly and hung out at the hostel. next stop hervey bay!!xxx
