Today was a much more relaxed day. We started the day with a mass and breakfast with bishop Francis Xavier of Chaing Mai diocese. A very humble and inspirational man, living and promoting inclusivity across the organisation of SSVP.
After this we visited Savreen School supporting by St Michaels conference. We participated in a PE lesson with the children and went Into the classrooms and were greeted with smiling faces.
It was a wonderful experience for all, we had many laughs and the children were very excited to see us and involve us.
After lunch we were confronted with a children's HIV orphanage. It was difficult knowing that these children were in care as a result of neglect and isolation from their tribes and villages because of the medical condition.
After the big two days we had an afternoon of rest and reflection led by Frances. We were reflective of gratitude, the poverty seen while voicing and supporting our struggles with the cultural shock of Thailand. The group is supporting each other well.
Thailand never ceases to amaze us. Watch this space as we now leave tomorrow to head north to Chaing Rai and the Golden Triangle!
