Lima, Peru, South America..
After talking about it for 10 years, I am finally here!
We spent all of wednesday travelling, from the time we left our house, until we were at the hotel in Lima, we used about 27 hours. That is quite exhausting to be honest.
So we got to the hotel late last night, and I lay in bed most of the night trying to sleep, but the jetlag got a hold of me, so most of time I just tried really hard to sleep. I think I might have gotten about 2 hours of it.
At 6 am, I decided it was ok to get out of bed, so today has been a long day.
We have spent it walking around Lima, the capital of Peru. As with so many other capitals and big cities, I am quite disappointed. There is absolutely nothing appealing about this city at all, but then again Peru isn't famous for its capital city. There are not that many sights here, and we have spent a big part of the day wandering aimlessly about, and being cold.
This city is bleak, grey and cold. Very few people smile, and they all dress in dark depressing colours.
My Spanish is coming back pretty quickly though, as everyone just speaks to you in Spanish, even if you look like a question mark while they're talking to you.
We went to a group meeting this afternoon, and met the rest of the group. Mostly British, except for two other Norwegian girls.
We will fly out to Cusco early in the morning tomorrow. we'll be meeting the group at 5 am in the hotel lobby. So tonight's dinner was a Subway sandwich, and some small bananas from the local store, and bedtime before 8 pm!
It is only 7 pm here, but I am so ready for bed. I hope I will get a good night's sleep, and that Cusco will be far more impressive than Lima.
