I was not planning on going to Isla de Ometepe...which is 2 volcano's in the middle of the middle of Lake Nicaragua, but decided I was so close I could not miss it. I left Granada last Monday (I think) and caught the good old chicken bus to San Juan Del Sur which is on the pacific coast. Those chicken buses are something else...always highly entertaining. Arrived at another good hostel in Granada which has a lovely big courtyard, again lots of hammocks and a bar, restaurant etc. Bumped into a whole bunch of people I met on Utila as well. I spent one night in Granada and then went with 3 Irish guys and 1 Aussie to the Monkey Hut which is a hostel about half an hour from Granada on Laguna de Apoyo...a volcano crater filled with water. Caught a bus from La Ceiba to San Pedro Sula, then another bus to Tegucigalpa.....capital of Honduras. Tom, Richard and I spent the night in Tegucigalpa ....talk about a dodgy town...glad I was not there on my own. The next day we caught another bus to Nicaragua. So all up two full days of travelling...pretty exhausting sitting on a bus doing nothing for 2 days! I got off the bus in Leon and the guys carried onto Managua. In Leon, I stayed at a really nice hostel...
