Hi Everyone
Tuesday we arrived on Koh Tao after spending the night on the night ferry. Thankfully the ferry wasn't full as it would of been cosy to say the least if it was! We stayed at Crystal Dive resort - as reccommended by Mr Simon Luxton - as Tom wanted to do his advanced padi course. We stayed in a small bungalow which was quite nice and was included as Tom had paid for his dive package. Tom spent the day diving and Kim stayed on a lounger all day. That night we were suposed to be going on a night dive but it was cancelled so instead we got ready and went out.
Wednesday Tom went out diving at 7am for his deep dive to 30m. Kim got up later and again spent the day by the pool. In the afternoon Tom had to finish his theory for his course so we chilled out in the bar area on bean bags. We had an early dinner and at 6:30 we went out on our night dive. It was a very strange experience, you almost felt like you were floating through space (not that we have ever been to space!) and it was a strange feeling not knowing what sea creatures you were about to shine your torch on! After we got back we went for a walk and we got an ice cream.
On Thursday we had a dive free day so we got up late and spent it by the beach and the pool just chilling. In the evening we walked down to Sai Ri beach and ate in a nice restaurant. The whole place seemed dead though, the bars and restaurants were empty so we got a banana and chocolate pancake and walked back.
Yesterday we got up and enjoyed breakfast before catching a ferry to Koh Phangan. We had no where to stay when we arrived, so we went to the tourist information centre and got a recommendation. We also booked our boat and bus to Bangkok for Sunday. One fo the girls tried to book us a taxi to our accommodation but we couldn't get one, so we hopped onto the back of her sisters moped and got a lift, backpacks and all!! We spent the rest of the day lying on the beach, it was absolutly dead, we have the whole beach to ourselves! We had some food in the bar in the evening and then went for a walk but there was absolutly no one about. It is low season at the moment and there are no full moon parties so the quiet place we are staying in is empty.
We have done much of the same today, chilling out on the deserted beach. It is quite nice though and we are definately going to enjoy it before we head up to crazy Bangkok tomorrow.
Hope all is well back in good old England!
Love us x x
