We headed off to the depths of Victoria to visit Trevor & Kath, friends we met on our Africa trip. We decided to stop over at the seaside town of Lakes Entrance for 2 nights to chill out and relax. The town reminded us of a British seaside town with fish and chips, arcades and crazy golf along the promenade. This area of coast did not seem to have an awful lot to see so we powered through down to Eden, the last major town before entering the state of Victoria. Wow! The Blue Mountains are simply stunning. The haze caused by the eucalyptus oil from the Eucalptus trees causes them to look blue - hence the name. We stayed in a town called Katoomba on our first night (1100m above sea level) and it was very very cold! On arrival in Sydney we opted to stay in a campsite on the outskirts rather than brave the city traffic.
