Hello,

Hope you managed to see the photos I just uploaded of our time in Hong Kong staying with our friends Greg and Carol, and visiting Jessica and Matt out in the New Terrotories. What fun we had catching up with them all, wining and dining, visiting beautiful temples and attaining the obligatory "jelly legs" negotiating the steep streets of Hong Kong Island. We were spoilt by Greg, Carol, Matt and Jessicas great hospitality - so nice to see familiar faces after three months on the road.

It was just a short stop this time as we will be returning there after our trip to Japan. By the way, we are currently in Tokyo, Japan, a new country and culture for us and we are really loving it. What a well organised, gentle, polite society this is - we are very impressed so far and we have only been here one day. I've always been a fan of good manners and this place I think, has made it a national obsession. It would be almost impossible to get run over on a zebra crossing here, people stop to let you past in the street, they offer you seats on the train, the even provide "toilet slippers" in the loo and heat the toilet seat (no kidding!).

We are here in Tokyo for a couple of days then on Monday we activate our 14 day rail pass - first stop Hiroshima. More later - I think the next blog will be lengthy as we are quite taken with this place.
