Saturday 19th September - Amphitheatre We headed away from the market and ok a couple of side streets and around the corner was the Amphitheatre. This was built by the Romans in the first century AD and was bases on the Coliseum except that it was not round but oval shaped. Saturday 19th September - Market Day We had a lovely breakfast in the main room of Marie & Jean and soon ventured out into the streets to view the market that takes place and the reason not to park your rental car is this space! Friday 18th September - Arles We went for a walk to find a place where we could get some lunch and ended up on the corner of a Place at a little cafe. Originally we sat outside but it was too hot and we moved inside to have our baguette and croque monsier and two beers. Friday 18th September - La Vagabonde B&B Jean and I walked back to the B&B over the bridge and along the river and voila we were there. I went upstairs to our room and it defies belief as this was beautiful and big and the sort of place you book to have a romantic weekend away. Wow! Three rooms actually and the bedroom is huge, the bathroom is huge and the room that we have put our suitcases in is another bedroom.

Friday 18th September - Arles The drive to Arles only took us about 1 hour but when we got there we had to negotiate all of these little narrow streets to get to our B&B. Thank goodness for the GPS that is installed in the car and is excellent with instructions. Much better than our GPS at home.
