Hi everyone, sorry we haven't been in touch we have had a manic but awesome few days. After we arrived in Melbourne, we picked up our camper van we have already named it Tessel (Reg TSL 784). The van is great and so far has catered for our needs perfectly.
We began our trip on the great ocean road (B100) and headed for Torquay. When we arrived, we found a campsite and stayed there the night. The campsite was located right over Torquay beach, which was lovely.
The next day we woke up and decided to head off to Bells Beach because I have always wanted to see it. Not only did I get to see it with clare but I managed to surf it too, wow!
After Bells Beach me and Clare decided to continue west along the great ocean road and we headed to a place called Kennet River. Not only was it by a lovely river beach surf break, but also the area was surrounded by Koala bears in their natural habitat. The first Koala we saw Clare named it 'Koala Lumpar'. Without going in to too much detail, the great ocean road is one amazing coastal drive.
The next day really consisted of 8hours worth of driving. We stayed in a town called Bairnsdale. From Bairnsdale our journey took us to a place called Mallacoota, where we got told to visit the local golf club because there were Kangaroos there. When we pulled up in Tessel, we got out and walked onto the course to see loads of Kangaroos just roaming around. Me and Clare found this funny and quite bizzaar.
Me being me, I wanted to visit the nearest beach which was Bastion Point. It had beautiful golden sand and plenty of waves to surf. Whilst we walked along the beach, I noticed a school of dolphins playing amongst the waves. We were both overwelmed and sat and watched them for ages.
So far every place we have visited, I keep telling Clare "this is my favourite place!"
Lets hope it continues.
We'll be in touch soon.
Love Kevin and Clare.
