After a sleepless 13 hour flight from Tokyo,we arrived in LA to beautiful blue skys, palm trees, edible food and most importantly, English speaking people! It´s a great city to stop over in and despite being awake for over 30 hours and having a 16 hour time change, we were able to enjoy the Santa Monica area where we stayed. I think we got the highlights in....the beach, pier, seeing Route 101, seeing enough plastic and peroxide to last til the end of our trip...

Yangshuo was our last stop in mainland China before Hong Kong and it was here we marked our 2nd month of the journey.Our journey to Yangshuo took 24 hours on buses and trains from Yichan, near the 3 Gorges Dam. Hong Kong was our last stop in China and was quite a big different to the rest of the country. Our last four days in Japan were in the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and we stayed right near the heart of things in Ueno. I loved the atmosphere in Tokyo and the lights and strangeness of it all.
