Backpack with Kerry & Nat
We arrived safetly in SA after a very long flight, we drove straight to Jo'berg hostel which was an experience on it's own they don't seem to have speed limits out here!!! We didn't feel that safe there so we stayed in that night.
Next morning we set off at 5am to the Kruger National Park for our four day safari adventure!!! We have a nice size tour group, 9 of us including four Chinese that wanted to eat every animal we saw, they were hilarious.
Our days in the Kruger were amazing and very hot (sometimes in the 40's) We went on a night Safari which was great and we got to see some nocturnal animals!!
We were very luckly to see each of the big five-Elephants, Lions, Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard and many more.
On safari you are not allowed out of the vehicle whilst on the road, however we got a puncturied tyre and had to stop. Whilst the men changed the tyre the girls had to get out and be on Lion watch, it was abit scary and the Chinese were useless and just took photo's.
At night we camped in Safari tents amd sat round the campfire. We could hear the Lions and Hyenas!!!! The bugs were very scary - Beetles the size of your hand so it was a bit yucky having to sleep in the tent with all those insects about.
The last eveing we speant in a tribal villiage and had a traditional Afican dinner (YUCK) followed by traditional dancing round the fire in which we joined in!!!!!!
We stayed in traditional huts made from mud and cow dung, we slept on the floor which was covered in bugs crawling everywhere, I was not impressed it was awful!!!!!
The last day we drove the panoramic route which was beautiful and stopped at some pot holes and a amazing canyon.
We are now heading south towards Caoe Town through Swaziland and along the coast stopping along the way.
Will update you again soon.
