The road from Tailem Bend south to Kingston hugged the coastline and passed through 'The Coorong' which included some beautiful beach areas with massive sand dunes and lots of bird life. There are two inland lakes where the Murray River meets the ocean and it was a lovely mix of farmland and coastline. We made it to Kingston just before midday and had our first stop at a park where there is a sundial you stand in to make it work! After lunch we took a drive along the waterfront and caught up with a couple of new friends - we met Don and Mon at a rest stop north of Coober Pedy and as they were heading home they suggested we call in on them at Kingston if we were near there. As it happened, they had just got home yesterday and so welcomed us in for a cuppa. It was great to see them, and they had a beautiful home right on the waterfront with a view out over the bay! Before leaving Kingston, we took a photo at The Big Lobster - a must for any tourist!!!
We drove onto Cape Jaffa and saw the massive new marina which is a huge contrast to the small little village nearby, and then turned east to head inland and ultimately to the highway which will take us to Mt Gambier.
