Franz Josef was amazing, I was so excited to be here as this is where you do the Glacier Hiking. I did the full 8 hour hike day and it was beautiful. The day we arrived it was pouring with rain and we caught up with some friends who had just done it (they were on the bus ahead) and bless them, they were frozen and soaked through, but they still said it was amazing. Beginning to travel down the West Coast we started seeing a change of scenery, travelling along a lot of coastal roads it was so beautiful. We stopped at Buller Adventures where a few people when horse riding but most of us went Jet-Boating! We were excited the boat was a 'V8' and meant to be the fastest in New Zealand so we were looking forward to an exiting ride. After an early start I met up back with my group of friends at the hostel and got the ferry to the South Island. Beautiful day but it was freezing!!!! We stayed at this cool backpackers I'd been recommended again and it had a pool (way too cold to go in though) but a nice sauna and hot tub so that was good. We headed further south to arrive Taupo, probably my favourite place on the North Island. It was beautiful, the weather was great, blue skies, a few clouds and the sun shining. Rotorua smells like rotten eggs....it really was awful. You know what I'm like for my smells anyway, I was nearly heaving every minute. Its because of the sulphur as its one of the most active volcanic areas in the world, and has hundreds of natural hot springs around.
