Apologies for the radio-silence, we've been kept terribly busy on a Pacific beach, lying in the sun, drinking a few beers and watching the sun's slow traversal across the sky. Occasional interruptions to this idyllic lifestyle included being pestered into helping to release a clutch of young turtles from their nursery into the ocean, being co-opted into many games of volleyball and generally forced to interact with the amiable bunch of fellow travelers that we found ourselves with at the Surfing Turtle Lodge, on the Nicaraguan coastline about 15km from Leon.
I could probably say a bit about the heat (an unvaryingly humid 39 degrees), the waves (relentless unceasing dumpers which required full attention) and the mosquitoes (happiest when biting you directly through your clothing), but I won't. Suffice to say we had a good few days spent chilling out on the beach, hearing about everyone's travel experiences and figuring out where to go and what to do next. We left after exchanging many contact details and promises to get in touch if we ever find ourselves in deepest darkest Canada/Australia/wherever.
Good times were had and we enjoyed a break from the road for a few days.

(SM here - it was basically a 3 day bender hence why my previous blog entry was so late as I was either drunk or hungover!)
