Hi Everybody
It's all been good news here lately . . . and may I say . . . about bloody time cobbers!!!!
Most importantly, Lissa has recovered well from her operation and "fingers crossed" it seems as if it was a success. They removed her teeth on the right side of her lower jaw along with the tumour, they saw her again Friday to check that everything is healing properly. Her face is still swollen, but the feeling in and around her cheek and chin is beginning to return. She is quite happy with the outcome, especially when considering what might have been with the much larger procedure that had been planned. They will see her regularly in the coming months to monitor her progress.
Lee passed his Nursing finals and he along with the rest of us are absolutely delighted as you can imagine . . . he is flying off to North Vietnam on 25th October for 3 months of well-earned rest and relaxation.
Now having said all that, and not trying to jinx ourselves, we have re-booked our trip to Oz and fly out on Monday 22nd October. It's all been very rushed trying to get everything in place. With flights disappearing while we discussed it, we decided to "bite the bullet" and take our airborne medicine as it were and have ended up with a very long and circuitous flight on the way out. With 2 stops . . . Bangkok and Sydney . . . plus 28 hours before reaching Cairns midday on 24th. We have booked a traditional Australian BnB for five days before we set off on our "Grey Nomad" travels. Our original van of choice is not available, and consequently we have booked with another company . . . instead of a VW we now have a Toyota, which we are sure will be fine.
Signing off folks and all things being equal (as you know they're not) the next blog should be from "down under" you'll probably have to adjust your screens if the type is upside down, but we're sure you'll manage!
Love and best wishes from
Bruce and Raylene
