This morning we woke up a bit earlier because it was a travel day and we still wanted to enjoy breakfast with views of the Acropolis! We skipped breakfast this morning because today's activities started with a walking food tour of Athens. We met our tour guide Eirini in Monastiraki Square. Two Australian women cruising from Singapore to London joined us. The first stop was a local bakery, Meliartos, where we tried two different pies - spinach & feta and three cheese. Today was a very full day! We started with a wonderful breakfast at the rooftop restaurant in our hotel. It had lovely views of the Acropolis as well as the city and the food was very good. At 8am we were picked up by our driver, George, who took us immediately to the Acropolis so that we could beat the crowds. Upgrading to first class on international flights is the best! Unfortunately, there was only one upgrade available on the Chicago to Munich flight so Keely graciously gave it to me. Even though it was an old plane, the seat laid down flat, I had a large screen tv to watch movies and there were ice cream sundaes for desert! Best wife ever. We’re off! Sabbatical 2.2 takes us to Greece for the next 2 weeks. The boys dropped us off at the airport and are on their way to Grandma and Grandpa Oppermann’s house for the weekend! With all the new toys to play with, they won’t miss us at all. Our flight takes us from Madison to Chicago to Munich and finally, if all goes well, we land in Athens at 3:40 pm local time, 8:40 am in Wisconsin. Stay tuned! Kevin & Keely
