Good evening blog readers,
Had a tasty Indian meal last night and woke up bright n early the next day for our flight from Luang Prabang to Siem Reap (Cambodia). We arrived mid afternoon found a hotel and went for a walk to the aptly named "Pub Street" You would think that 6000miles from home it would be unlikely you would bump into someone you know from home, well funny that as from the crowd shouts a voice saying Nicola! It was only Estelle a girl that Nic used to work with in London.
We arranged to meet the next evening but not before we had got up for sunrise 4am at Angkor Wat, it was too cloudy and wasnt quite as described in the brochure. Angkor is huge, I thought it was just one temple, turns out its bigger than Darlo with loads of temples, we had to go back the next day to see a few more and try to catch sunset this time only for it to pour down.
We have now moved on from Siem Reap and taken a 9hr boat journey to Battambang, Cambodia doesnt appear to have that kind, friendly approach of Laos and the Tuk-Tuk and hotel salesmen have been a little too pushy, I felt my flying elbow raising up and one point, ha.
Plans are up in the air as what to do next and where to go but its not a bad problem to not know what you are doing in 2 days time.
Nic has finally managed to get onto Skype so is talking to her family while I type this update.
Hope your all well
G & N xx
