Pretty boring day being hungover and waiting for our ferry to the South Island where we have an awful shock! With our campervan we get reduced rates on the ferry which is the main reason we chose the company thinking the price would be $210 which is still extortionant for the stupid ferry anyway! But when we get there we are told that is the price for the car and it would be another $75 per person! I nearly had a heart attack! So after a long and disappointing ferry ride (I actually had a pretty good nap) we arrive in picton and start the drive to our first destination on the South Island: kaikoura!
