After a hairpin bus journey up the hills and mountains felt so sick we arrive in this lovely little town and its pouring with rain and seems very tropical we got picked up from the bus station and got taken to the hostel we were staying our private room is in like a war bunker its very odd and very cold and damp in there but definately different! We then went to unpack the bags and sensible me keeps mine locked to keep out the thieving b******s on the bus so i ask jono for the key as he keeps all that stuff and we frantically search and he realises that he has lost all the padlocks and their keys so am thinking how the hell am i going to open my bag im not cutting it or breaking it cos dont want to have to buy a new one so we wander down to the town in the rain and some nice bloke lends us a hacksaw so anyway we saw the lock off hoorah i have all my stuff again! Then we book a half day countryside tour for the next day and have a freezing nights sleep everything feels wet as its so cold so wasnt great. The tour was interesting and quite random,we went to a rose garden first and saw lots of plants quite boring then we went to a temple again quite boring seen so many temples then we went to a strawberry farm which was better tried all the local jams very tasty then we went to a butterfly farm and saw lots of lovely butterflys and the most gross insects giant beetles and giant tortoises which i held one up but it freaked me out when it started wriggling about, then we went to a tea plantation which was interesting to see how its all made had a few samples of ice tea again very tasty and then headed to a bee farm which was so boring just loads of bees flying around no tour or anything and then came back to the rain again but it was nice to see all the locals doing their thing! The food here is lush all indian food we get a deal for tandoori chicken rice 3 sauces and a naan break for under a quid its great and the local dish is called roti its like a pancake with curry sauce and its like 10p and its so nice so had lots of them and tea and scones is also very popular up in the highlands so tonight me and jono will have some tea and scones and play a game of cheese in the hostel...how very english and civilised of us!!! Catching the bus tomorrow to Penang which is 5 hours away...more like about 8 as the buses are always late and take ages looking forward to nearly throwing up again on the way down the mountains but the buses are vip its like having an aeroplane seat to yourself its great!
