we got dropped off at the bus station after a 8 and a half hour bus journey from vietnam we had a 2 hour traffic jam which wasnt great but when i looked out the window of my air con bus with a toilet and saw the locals all crammed into mini vans and all crammed onto the roofs i couldnt moan to much, we didnt know where to stay and got hassled so much by tuk tuk drivers we took one and he took us to a right hole which we said no to then we went somewhere slightly better but is still rotten and had to stay here we have a tv but the bathroom keeps flooding with water from where we dont know and is covered in dry rot great! We went to the killing fields today and was very very sad to see all the mass graves and lots and lots of skulls of people they found some with large parts of their skull or jaw missing you could see where they had been beaten or shot in the head with big pieces missing and was really sad, i even tripped on a bone sticking out from the ground and saw pieces of clothing amongst the dirt in the graves. We then went to a shooting range but was all boarded up and lots of young cambodian guys with all these guns i didnt like it at all didnt feel safe and was more expensive than what we thought so we had to use half a magazines worth of bulletys on the AK47 machine gun and we were going to have about 6 bullets each jon went first and as soon as the first shot went off i hated it felt to dangerous for me and was freaking a bit had a bad feeling i had 1 go but hated it didnt like being with a gun at all wasnt for me would have liked to have a go at a colt gun like the FBI use but was to expensive and i was a bit of a scaredy cat no going into the army for me! Then we went to a place called S21 which was where all the khmer rouge soldiers took people to be tortured before executing them at the killing fields again was awful to see all the pics of people that were there some pics showing what state they were in and getting tortured and the pics of the little kids even babies broke my heart. There is so much poverty here kids and adults scrounging around in filthy stinking rubbish dumps and rotting meat everywhere its very poor country and makes you feel very lucky with what you have !!! Off to Siem Reap tomorrow on the bus another 6 hours away joy
