Hi everyone,
Since I last wrote, we have made a few more stops in Australia. From Townsville, we took yet another Greyhound to Mission Beach. It was so hot there, you almost didn't know what to do with yourself. Thankfully, the room we had came with air conditioning, perhaps that's why we only had a thin piece of spong for a matress!! We really enjoyed ourselves in Mission Beach and spent much of our time just relaxing on the near empty sands! I also had my birthday there, which was really nice. We splashed out at a proper restaurant for dinner, with all you can eat buffet!! We certainly made the most of it!
We left Mission Beach and took our last Greyhound bus to Cairns. We are both so pleased that we don't have to get on one of those again. We have been in Cairns just over a week and again have spent lots of time relaxing (money saving), and trying to get organised for our month in Asia. We took a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef the other day, and spent around 5 hours snorkelling on two seperate locations. This was so amazing. We saw dozens of different types of tropical fish which were constantly swimming underneath us. We also saw a large stingray, as well as heaps of vividly coloured coral formations. It was the first time either of us had been snorkelling and what better place to do it!!
Sarah also had her birthday in Cairns on Friday the 13th (oooohhh). We had a really nice day, watched a good movie at the cinema and again had a nice meal down the pub!!
Our time in Australia has now come to an end. I cannot believe how fast this past month and a half have gone, but it has been fantastic all the way, and I have seen things that I will never forget. I definitely hope to come back soon and explore the rest of it!! Off to Singapore tomorrow.
I hope you are all ok, and please keep leaving messages on my board, as it keeps me going until I can see you all again...in just over 4 weeks! Kay xx
