G'day peeps! We are in Australia now and having a great time. We have just had a week in Sydney, a really amazing city. We really loved it, the things you can see just by walking around are fantastic. I don't think I will ever forget the first time we saw the harbour. The sun was shining, no clouds in the sky and beautiful architecture! I loved just standing there looking at it all!
We were as always very busy. We went across the harbour on a ferry to Toronga zoo last weekend. It was a really fun day out...it was the animals not in cages that I noticed the most...I'm not so keen on the spiders!
Last Monday, I climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge! The weather was great. It was abot 23 degrees, and according to one woman who has been guiding climbs for 10 years, one of the best days she had seen. The sky was so clear that I could see all the way to the Blue Mountains. I was a little nervous but it soon went away. We all got dressed up in the grey and blue climbing suits and put all the equipment on, and were on our way. The climb was really relaxing, and our guide made it very enjoyable too. I really loved seeing the city from the top of the bridge, and I had a feeling like no other standing there!
The next day, we got the train to Katoomba and saw the Blue Mountains. Again, another fantastic view, and we have taken some great panoramic photos. Over the next few days we went to Manly beach and ofcourse Bondi beach. We went to Bondi on a week day, as we had heard that it gets absolutely packed out at weekends. We had a fun time here and made a few sand sculptures, which several strangers came up to take pictures of. We should have charged for the privilage, might have paid for a few nights sleeping! We also went to Darling Harbour and to the Chinese Garden of Friendship.
Our time in Sydney was so much fun, I can't wait to go back! We are in Melbourne now, and I will write again about that soon xx
