Hey everyone! Washington DC is a must see for your bucket list. For a country that doesn't have an extensive amount of history like us, I sure saw a lot of it here! We did an illumination tour of all the monuments on our first night.. So we saw the White House, Lincoln building, World War 2 memorial and Vietnam War memorial- all was very moving and beautiful at night! We didn't spot Obama, but we did stand on the exact spot Martin Luther King did his 'I have a dream' speech. The Abraham Lincoln statue is huge & it felt quite surreal seeing it & looking out to the reflection of the Washington monument. The second day we revisited the monuments again and had a free day to roam around the museums (we ended up roaming around H&M instead- woops). Our tour leader brought us pizza in the park which looked onto the Capitol Building (iconic dome building) so as a group we had that and then headed to the BASEBALL!! Baltimore Orioles Vs Toronto Blue Jets. That was a pretty cool experience!
And now... We are heading to the big apple where our tour ends :(. It's been the best 2 weeks we've done sooo much in such a short space of time & I've shared some amazing memories with some brilliant people!! But it's still the beginning for me... Bring on NY this week!
Check out my photos of the monuments & I shall speak to you in NEW YORK NEW YORK!!
Lots of love, Katie xxxxxx
