Last time we wrote we were in Bangkok waiting for a night bus to bring us down to the islands for some relaxation. The islands are gorgeous but we thought at one point we were not going to get here. In Thailand you arrange a trip with a travel agent and don't really understand what they are saying to you or what's going to happen. As long as you know where you are going to be picked up that is the main thing then you just hope for the best. We got picked up to catch the night bus and got told to wait on the street then got told to get on a bus which was all ok. But then as the bus set off they showed this video of the islands on the west coast of Thailand. We then found out everyone else on the bus that we could nosey in on was going to these other islands and when we then checked our boat ticket and it had the name of this other island on the wrong side of Thailand. At this point we started to panic so i asked the bus drivers friend if we were going to Ko Samui (where we wanted to be) and he laughed and shook his head. We then accepted that we were probably going to the wrong place so we formulated a plan on how to get to where we wanted to be. The stress of this made me really sleepy so I spent the next ten hours asleep. At five oclock in morning we got off the bus and found out we were in the right place and all the other people had to transfer onto another bus, which meant they went a ridiculously long way round to get to where they wanted to be but we didn'e really care about them we were just glad to have made it! A boat ride later we were on an island and made it to our apartment which was really nice for six quid a night each! At this point we'd been travelling about 48 hours and I was so mucky it looked like I had a botched fake tan so had a long shower and then spent the next few days relaxing. Ko Samui was really pretty island but we could of been in holiday in Spain or Greece, just a resort really. It was really nice on the beach though and at night all the restaurants open onto the beach and it's really romantic which is just what me and Toyah came away in search off! So lots of walks and candle lit dinners. We visited a couple of resorts on the island and stayed for a about 6 nights in total. It was nice to relax. We then came over to Ko Phangnan, which is amazing. It is full of backpackers and has a really good vibe to it. They also play episodes of Friends in every bar so we are loving it. The beach is gorgeous too. We want to go exploring the island but it keeps monsooning, hence the long blog entry! We are not quite in the centre because when we got here everywhere was booked up but staying in a cute little bungalow on a beachfront about 15mins away. It's really basic but for 8pound a night for both of us you can't complain. My cockroach killing skills are improving too, even teased one from off a door last night, onto the wall then splatted it with my flip flop. We are staying for the full moon party which is just a huge beach party which has pretty much been going on all week, it's ace. Met lots of people and just having a really really ace time. Going to leave on Saturday (main beach party is Thursday) and head to Malaysia. Miss you all and having a great time. Lots of lovexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
