Well here I am again in ACB, home sweet hostel!
I must say that I am slightly disappointed in the fact that I have received no emails in the time I've been away from Auckland . It's like you all have lives or something!
Well anyway, in the time that has passed, I have been to the most northerly tip of New Zealand, hugged an ancient Kauri tree, seen the point at which two oceans meet and eaten world famous fish and chips (no not Harry Ramsdens!). The fish was actually a snapper and was rather nice. The meeting of the oceans was visible but apparently it's usually more impressive than that, still I got to drive about 50 miles along a beach in a massive bus and slide on my stomach down the side of a sand dune (on a board I might add). The sand boarding was scary but amazing, particularly the point at which you are lying down and begin to slide without meaning to down what appears to be a fully vertical drop!
I stayed in Paihia (said pie here) in a hostel called the Pipi Patch which had some precarious bunks without sides or ladders. I had planned to stay up north for longer but there was frankly very little left to do after we'd visited the supermarket and three bars! So that is the story of how I am here again in Auckland, I hope you enjoyed it and are waiting on the edge of your seats for the next instalment which may involve more details of my trip that I currently can't remember because I'm actually quite tired.
Bye for now dear readers I will leave you to your doubtless busy lives!
Love
Kate
