Touch down in Mui Ne, one more lazy beach town won't hurt.
We felt the need to visit just one more beach resort and had heard good things about this place so this morning we jumped on a 7 hour bus to the little town of Mui Ne. With only one main street and nothing much to do here apart from relax we've had another peaceful afternoon preparing ourselves for the carnage in Saigon.
We have checked in at Bien dau resort, with its own private coconut beach and little beach hut rooms it seemed like the logical thing to do. We spend the afternoon reading on sun beds and people watching. One man in particular who decided at 70+ he could still rock a tiny thong to the beach was quite entertaining. After dinner we arrive back to our little beach haven to find we have been invaded by giant ants and a TV that smells like its about to blow. The next 5 minutes is a mass ant killing spree, with flip flops in hand we both stand there slapping the tiles squishing the little intruders.
Ive just come off from a little Mothers day skype session with my Mum and Grandma. They were teasing me about the sunday dinner they had just eaten and the homemade cakes Mum has made. Ooh I am craving English food so so much!
Day 2
The day starts off with a little nap on the sunbed. I didn't sleep well last night and was fighting the nap whilst reading on coconut beach, I gave in very easily.
We have a little trip planned this afternoon, we climb on board a jeep and visit the Fairy stream. On either side of Fairy stream which is about ankle deep are towering red sand dunes, it feels more like Australia than Vietnam. We stroll down the stream occasionally stubbing toes on hidden rocks and stepping in deeper holes.
We then visit the white sand dunes, the sand is boiling hot but really soft. We were supposed to sand board here but Tom reckons they aren't high enough and we can board on better ones when we go to Dubai. I agree as whilst watching people board they are going down the dunes painfully slow. Before heading back to Mui Ne we make our last stop at the red sand dunes to watch the sunset.
That evening we have a night bus booked from here to Ho Chi Minh City, we have managed to get a discounted room until 1am when we leave so the evening ends with a quick tea and its bedtime by 9pm for the wake up call at 12am.
