Today I did my second day of diving with Dive Down Below. Once again I was impressed with the company, very professional and friendly especially as I was on my own. The dive centre is based on its own beach on the largest of the islands off KK, Gaya and has basic but pleasant facilities.
After a pre-dive briefing we headed off for 'North Sulug' dive site. Spying turtles from the boat we back rolled into crystal clear water and descended to 15m before following the coral shelf down to a maximum of 24m. As we hit the bottom we saw blue spotted stingrays, lionfish and puffer fish before I was attacked by a sucker fish that decided my leg was to be its new home. Some banner fish, pipe fish and a scorpion fish later we surfaced and got picked up by the boat.
After some fruit and biscuits we set off for 'Fan Corner' to see batfish, eels as well as multiple lion fish hiding in the vase-like coral before returning for lunch. A buffet of chicken curry and we were ready for the last dive out at 'Coral Garden'. This turned out to be in the slightly deeper water off Sapi where Emma and I had been snorkelling earlier in the week and is one of the best dive sites around. Treated to the sight of a seahorse and stone fish we returned contented to the dive centre.
Overall, after the quality of the diving last weekend there was no disappointment in returning for a second day, and if I can I will go back for more!!
