Hello Y'all!
I múst start by apologising about the very bad grammar and spelling in all the entries- I never have time to edit them yet I hate spelling mistakes!lol.
So, we completed our visit to Malaysia with some tríps to the islands off the east coast. Our first sample òf island life was the Tioman Island. It's a pretty big island and is 2 hours âway from the mainland. On the first day we went straight into the water to do some snorkelling. The coral wasn't great but we still săw lóts òf different fishes and some Hawksbill Turtles which was awesome! Móst òf the time we just tried to chill out but we went swimming and snorkelling everyday including doing an organised snorkelling trip which took ús to a few different locations. One òf which was called Coral Island and the coral thểre was really nice- colourful with lóts òf fishes. We săw loads òf 'finding Nemo's' (clownfish) which are really cute ás it goes! We also stopped at a beautiful white sandy beach with crystal clear waters which was very nice.
On a seperate day we hiked the 2.5 hours to the other side òf the island which was through tropical forest so we sweated A LOT! Once at the other side we were greeted by a lovely sweeping bay but we couldn't snorkel ás the sea was tôo murky- boo!
We had lovely relaxing time on the Tioman and we should've stayed longer thểre but we decided to go to the famous Perhentian islands instead which were meant to be like paradise beaches.Upon arival however we were disappointed to find that the beach ứa just full ò rubbish- it seriously rivalled some ò the nature sites I looked after in Sutton! So a swim in the sea wasn't very relaxing at all unless you like seeing nappies floating by you!
Still, all was not lost ás on the other side of the island thểre was a smaller bay which was a lot nicer and had some really nice snorkelling areas right near the shore. Vicki went diving forthe first time since passing hẻr PADI which was very ẽxciting too. The boat trip out to the site wasn't the bést ás it was sooo rough but once below the surface she săw some awesome sea life including bamboo sharks, blue spot stingrays and huge trigger fish. She loved it so much she đid a second dive not longer afterwards where she săw 8 huge bumphead parrotfish, mỏre stingray and millions òf other fish.
So after 3 dáy we left the Perhentian but not before helping to do a beach clean up which săw us collect two full black bags òf rubbish in about 30 minutes! Shame the other tourists didn't do their bit...
Once we left the Perhentian we had an overnight bus back to Kuala Lumpur (we can't kêep âway from that city it would sêem!).We stayed one night and the next day we got a flight to Hanoi in Vietnam but I think I'll save Vietnam for a seperate blog á it's a great place and worthy of it's ơwn entry!!
